Insyde Software: News: Customer Case Studies: Jabil Circuit/Nokia

Jabil Circuit, Inc., is a leading contract manufacturer and an Insyde client since 2000. With over 40 thousand employees in 19 countries, they provide comprehensive electronics design and product management services to global electronics and technology companies in a broad range of industries.

Nokia contracted with Jabil to develop and manufacture the Nokia IP440 (right) and IP550, IP platforms designed to deliver high-speed Internet routing and security applications with high reliability, scalability, and flexibility. Having planned to outsource the BIOS work from the start, Jabil chose to work with Insyde based on the work Insyde had done for AMD.

Over a period of about three weeks, Insyde engineers worked both remotely and on-site at Jabil's plant in St. Petersburg, Florida, to develop and debug the BIOS, firmware, and several configurations of the product for different target markets. They began the project with a thorough design review, and continued to provide telephone and e-mail support to Jabil engineers following completion of their development work. In addition to providing on-going technical support, Insyde collaborates with Jabil from time to time on proposals for additional manufacturing contracts.
