Insyde® Software Expands Linux Development Center in Taiwan

Research & Development Efforts Focusing on the Unique Needs of the Growing Netbook Market

COMPUTEX 2009 - TAIPEI, TAIWAN, JUNE 02, 2009 - Insyde Software (GTSM: 6231), a leading provider of UEFI-based BIOS and engineering services today announced the expansion of their Linux® Development Center (LDC) at their corporate headquarters in Taipei, Taiwan.

The growth in the LDC, currently staffed with over 40 Linux development engineers, application developers and quality assurance engineers will allow Insyde Software to expand its Linux OS, driver and application product offerings to Notebook and Netbook OEMs and ODMs worldwide. Insyde Software's research and development efforts at the LDC will initially focus on a number of key netbook technologies including fast booting, instant-on environments, power management and the development and integration of Linux-based applications. Particular focus for the LDC will be in the area of Android and Moblin support, both open source operating environments gaining momentum in the netbook market.
