Insyde Software Celebrates Five Years of Shipping EFI Framework BIOS

Newest Generation UEFI Firmware for Mobile, Server and Embedded Platforms Showcased at the Intel Developer Forum

INTEL DEVELOPER FORUM, SAN FRANCISCO, CA AUGUST 19, 2008 - Insyde Software, a leading provider of Universal Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) based firmware, BIOS, and engineering services, today announced it has reached a milestone by shipping EFI (Extensible Firmware Interface) and UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) firmware on industry leading computing platforms for 5 years. Insyde Software will showcase its flagship product InsydeH2O™ in booth #320 at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) taking place August 19-21, 2008 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, CA.

The company is also demonstrating InsydeH2O&trade support for Intel's recently launched EP80579 Integrated Processor Product Line (formerly codenamed "Tolapai") in the show's System-on-a-Chip Community Pavilion, booth #153.

In 2003, Insyde Software was the first Independent BIOS Vendor to offer an EFI Framework-based BIOS built upon the Intel Platform Innovation Framework for EFI. The first commercial product leveraging this technology was the Gateway Media Center 610 desktop PC.

Insyde Software at the IDF Technology Showcase

At booth #320 Insyde Software will showcase its celebration of its five years of shipping EFI and UEFI technology. Products from Insyde's customers dating from 2003 through present day will be on display.

Insyde Software will also be participating with Intel for a special demonstration of its InsydeH2O&trade firmware running on the recently announced Intel EP80579 Integrated Processor in booth #153 of the System-On-Chip Community Pavilion.

Insyde Software's Senior Director of Software Architecture, Jeff Bobzin, will present Session ID EFIS003 being held on Thursday, August 21st at 10:10 AM. Mr. Bobzin's presentation is entitled "Debugging under Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI): Addressing DXE Driver Challenges."
