Insyde Software's BIOS Replacement Technology
Shipping Now in All PC Platform Segments
InsydeH2O?Gaining Widespread Acceptance by
Major System Manufacturers
INTEL DEVELOPER FORUM, SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 23,
2005 - Insyde Software, a leading provider of system software, BIOS,
and engineering services, today announced that InsydeH2O?
is shipping now for all PC product segments including servers, desktops,
mobile and embedded PCs, and is being used now in dozens of different
product designs across these different markets. The InsydeH2O “Hardware-2-Operating
System” firmware solution is a complete, production-ready
version of the Platform Innovation Framework for EFI. The InsydeH2O
product family is both the most mature and feature rich UEFI solution
implementation available today.

Evidence of this acceptance of Insyde’s BIOS

at this week’s Intel Developer Forum being held at the Moscone
Center in San Francisco, CA. These systems on-display include:
- Next Generation notebook computers from:
o Compal
o Mitac
- Egenera® BladeFrame® Intel® Itanium® 2 processor
based utility computing server solution. The industry’s
first Itanium based product to use the EFI Framework firmware.
- Gateway Media Center PC – one of the industry’s
first systems to leverage this technology.
- NEC Infrontia Point-of-Sale Terminal and Graphical Order terminal.
These products are being used today in Japan by one of NEC Infrontia’s
leading retailers.
- DRS Tactical Systems (WalkAbout Computers) RT800 Pen-based Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC.
- Intel Desktop Boards including but not limited to the following
SKUs: D865PCK, D910GDW, D915GWB, D955XBK, D945PSN, D945PLM, D945PAW,
D945GTP, D945GNT, D945GCZ, D945PVS.
