Insyde Software Licenses InsydeH2O BIOS Replacement Technology to WalkAbout Computers Next-Generation Rugged Tablet PC to Leverage EFI Framework INTEL DEVELOPER FORUM, SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., March 1, 2005 - Insyde Software, a leading provider of system software, BIOS, and engineering services, today announced that WalkAbout Computers, Inc. a leading designer and manufacturer of highly rugged Tablet computers has licensed its InsydeH2O product for their next-generation Tablet PC. The InsydeH2O "Hardware-2-Operating System" firmware solution is a replacement to the traditional BIOS technology being used on most PC architected platforms today. WalkAbout Computers provides durable mobile computing solutions to the utility, telecommunications, transportation, manufacturing, distribution and public safety/EMS markets. Their products are designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions and demanding field use and as such must meet strict quality, up time and manufacturing standards. Working with Insyde Software engineers, WalkAbout will customize the InsydeH2O firmware for its next generation of Intel Pentium M Processor based Hammerhead Tablet PCs.
