Insyde Software Launches EFI Framework University

Industry's First Comprehensive Training Program Dedicated to the Intel® Platform Innovation Framework for EFI

INTEL DEVELOPER FORUM, SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., March 1, 2005 - Insyde Software, a leading provider of system software, BIOS, and engineering services, today announced the availability of "The EFI Framework University" training program. Insyde Software has established a leadership position in the EFI Framework based solutions market, having launched InsydeH2O BIOS replacement technology for mobile platforms in late 2003 followed by new releases supporting Desktops, Servers and Embedded Systems over the past 18 months along with a host of new development tools, pre-boot applications and evaluation programs.

The EFI Framework University is a comprehensive 3-day instructor-led training program designed for software and hardware engineers responsible for bringing new PC architecture platforms and semiconductor components to market. The current curriculum of the training program covers a broad range of EFI and Framework related topics including; introduction to EFI concepts, device driver development, hands-on debugging, hardware configuration, Framework customizations, pre-boot application development and quality assurance techniques.

Insyde Software kicked off and sold out its first EFI Framework University program in Taipei, Taiwan in mid January with attendees representing leading companies such as Clevo, Dell, DFI, Gigabyte, Mitac, Quanta, ULi and VIA. The next program is scheduled for later this month also in Taipei with additional EFI Framework University events planned throughout the year in Japan, China, Europe and the United States.

With Intel's approval to the content of the EFI Framework University curriculum, Insyde Software is providing an "EFI Framework Ready "certificate to all engineers who complete the 3-day course.

"Insyde's Framework training program should be well received by the PC community," said Michael Richmond, Manager of Intel's Platform Software team. "With training from Insyde, software engineers that complete the program have a way to further distinguish themselves among their peers and industry at-large."

"The EFI Framework University is a natural step in our progression of offering ODM and OEM customers practical value in working with the Framework today," said Susan Su, Executive Vice President for Insyde Software in Taiwan. "The positive feedback we received from our first group of graduates in the program validated our belief that this type of hands-on training is required."

The EFI Framework University is a follow-on educational and EFI readiness program recently made available from Insyde Software. At the September, 2004 Intel Developer Forum, Insyde launched the 1st Wave EFI Framework enabling program which provides PC Manufacturers, Silicon Vendors and Third-party Hardware makers access to EFI Framework technology, evaluation software and hardware validation platforms.

On Tuesday, March 1st, at the Intel Developer Forum, Insyde Software's technical staff will present a session track entitled, "Securing Pre-Boot Applications in the Framework." Insyde Software will also be exhibiting Secure ROM Sizing and other technologies running with its latest InsydeH2O products on desktop, mobile and embedded platforms.
