Insyde Software Delivers Early Firmware Support for Advanced Mobile Designs InsydeH2O™ Offers a Cross-Platform Firmware Environment for Leading Edge Mobile Device Makers INTEL DEVELOPER FORUM, TOKYO, April 7, 2004 (Booth # E-14) - Insyde Software, a leading global provider of system software, BIOS, and engineering services, today announced its extended support for the demanding mobile firmware market with its latest InsydeH2O™ "Hardware-2-Operating System" solution. Originally launched at the Intel Developer Forum, Fall 2003 for Insyde Software's traditional mobile PC maker customers, this announcement further extends the company's leadership position in the mobile PC BIOS arena, replacing 20-year-old legacy BIOS technology with a more efficient, modern solution. Followed by the announcement of its InsydeH2O BIOS replacement for desktops at Intel Developer Forum, Spring 2004, Insyde Software has achieved another industry "first" by making available InsydeH2O Mobile Edition for the upcoming Intel™ "Alviso" chipset-based designs. Late last year InsydeH2O Mobile Edition was made available for Intel-855/852 chipset solutions - which will ship in the first Framework-based mobile system in the second quarter of this year. In yet another first, InsydeH2O was the first EFI Framework product to ship on a desktop PC in the market commencing with Gateway in the fourth quarter of last year. InsydeH2O Mobile Edition will be on display at Insyde Software's booth at the Intel Developer Forum in Tokyo running on a mobile PC from one of the world's largest ODM suppliers. Implementing the Intel Platform Innovation Framework for EFI, InsydeH2O Mobile Edition now supports the latest 'Dothan' processors, along with all of the commonly used current and upcoming chipsets from Intel Corporation. Insyde expects that industry acceptance of the Platform Innovation Framework for EFI will result in InsydeH2O shipping on numerous desktop and mobile systems later this year. InsydeH2O Mobile Edition provides OEM and ODM computer makers the following key features and benefits over traditional Legacy BIOS solutions:
