Insyde Software First to Integrate BIOS On M-Systems' DiskOnChip Millennium Reduces design costs for Internet Appliance and Embedded System manufacturers – Only BIOS vendor to demonstrate product at Fall Comdex Westborough, MA - December 13, 1999 - Insyde Software, a leading provider of critical software technologies for Internet appliance and mobile computer manufacturers, today announced the immediate availability of BIOS support integrated on M-Systems' DiskOnChip Millennium. Insyde Software's Internet appliance (IA) and Embedded Firmware products are well architected, industry tested software that provides system designers great flexibility in their hardware designs and operating system choices, from any RTOS to Microsoft Windows. By integrating these BIOSs onto M-Systems' DiskOnChip, Insyde Software provides customers the ability to use DiskOnChip for both flash disk and BIOS storage. This new capability will increase the value provided to DiskOnChip customers, and will allow them to reduce component count and lower the cost of their systems by eliminating the typical need for an additional flash or ROM chip. These benefits will permit IA and embedded systems manufacturers to bring cost effective solutions to market more quickly.
