Insyde Software Announces BIOS Support for New Intel® Mobile Pentium® III Processor Insyde Software's system-level technologies provide foundation for Internet enabled-notebooks Westborough, MA - October 25, 1999 - Insyde™ Software, a leading provider of critical software technologies for mobile computer and internet appliance manufacturers, today announced the immediate availability of it's BIOS firmware for the new Intel® mobile Pentium® III processor, announced today by Intel Corporation. "Intel is excited to see that Insyde Software's new product supports our goal of making mobile Pentium III processor-based mobile PC's the best way to access the Internet anytime, anywhere," said Russell Barck, director of marketing, Mobile & Handheld Products Group, Intel Corporation. "We are pleased that Insyde Software's development efforts recognize the important role notebooks play in the emerging mobile industry." Insyde Software offers its customers a packaged solution of source code and documentation that simplifies the update to the mobile Pentium III processor. This allows the notebook OEMs to leverage their existing Insyde Software 440BX code base, and therefore greatly shorten the time to market with a mobile Pentium III processor design due to reduced design, development, and testing. "We have worked very closely with Intel and our customers to ensure a smooth transition to the mobile Pentium III processor," said Dennis J. Gullotti, director of marketing, Insyde Software. "By packaging new technologies we make it very easy for our customers', and our internal OEM engineering team, to add new capabilities to customer designs. For example, our mobile Pentium III processor "OEM Update Kit" includes a unique new memory sizing algorithm that allows booting the system even if the system has an invalid memory configuration, further saving quality assurance time and also reducing field support calls."
