Company's focus on mobile technologies ensures OEM Readiness for "Low-Cost OR Value Mobile PC" designs
NATICK, Mass. - January 26, 1999 - Insyde™ Software, a provider of enabling mobile software technologies for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), today announced the immediate availability of system-level software support for Intel's Mobile Celeron™ processor, announced yesterday by Intel Corporation. Leading Taiwanese notebook OEMs, including Arima and MiTAC, are among the first Insyde Software customers to license its software for the mobile Intel Celeron processor-based systems.
Insyde Software provides support for the Mobile Intel Celeron processor as part of it's standard mobile BIOS product. "Intel supports Insyde Software's efforts in providing advanced mobile software technologies," said Andy Combs, director, Mobile Support Operations, Intel Corporation. "We are pleased that Insyde Software has a ready solution for vendors developing low-cost mobile PCs based on the Intel Celeron processor."
Recently formed Insyde Software develops and markets enabling system-level (BIOS) software that allows mobile PC manufacturers to design and ship timely and innovative mobile platforms without making significant investments in software engineering resources. Insyde Software's products and services also allow PC OEMs to reduce their time to market by providing fully featured and easily customized system level software, advanced development tools, and dedicated engineering consulting services.
"We are well prepared to assist our OEM customers in design and production of Mobile Celeron processor-based systems," said Stephen J. Gentile, vice president of marketing for Insyde Software. "With our continued focus on mobile system level software, we look forward to working with Intel on future 1999 and 2000 Intel-based platforms."
"Insyde Software's well architected 430TX/440BX/DX core BIOS provided a seamless migration path to Intel's Mobile Celeron processor," said James Hwang, general manager, MiTAC. "This has quickly enabled MiTAC to develop a full featured notebook targeted at the 'Value Mobile PC' market."
"With Insyde Software's focus on mobile system-level software, they were quickly able to provide complete support for Intel's latest mobile processor", said Amos Tseng, director, Arima Computer Corp.
